Overview
The brief
To retain new customers on the Virgin Media on Your Mobile portal following its cross-platform launch in February 2009.
Our approach
To broaden the remit of Virgin BITES which we had been running for the past three and a half years, making it a highly engaging experience for a wider audience.
To make the portal a gateway to the web and a place to promote the Virgin Media brand.
To create a synergy between bespoke content and the storefront to increase revenue.
What we did
Creative
We produced high quality bespoke content to cross-sell Virgin Media brands. Sites such as Britain's Next Top Model and VM Shorts directly support Virgin assets, while our artist of the week microsites increase download revenue. Video content increases engagement and competitions increase user response.
Video
We produce, edit and deliver music interviews to the red button service, Virgin Music On Demand and celebrity and music interviews to virginmedia.com
Technology
We host and maintain the content management system through which we run the portal. We also work closely with other Virgin Media technology and hosting providers to maintain a seamless user experience.

The results
Response
We have half a million unique users per month.
Best bits
We launch around 20 new sites per month for big events like The X Factor and The Apprentice. We've also interviewed big names like Kanye West, Leona Lewis, Lady Ga Ga and N-Dubz.
